Lava and Lolegaon are too quaint hill stations in Kalimpong district and surrounded by a forest of Pines, oak, and cypress. The altitude of Lava is 7,700 feet while Lolegaon is the lowest is at a lower altitude of 5,500 feet. Since they are closer to each other, most tourists make a combined visit to these two places.
From NJP or Bagdogra you can reach Lava or Lolegaon via calling from or Gourbathan.
From NJP to Lava is about 105 km via Kalimpong and 119 km via Gourbathan. Lava is about 34kms along rishi Road and Lolegaon is 22kms away.
On a day you can visit Lolegaon first then visit Lava and return via Algarah along Rishi road(Ask the driver to strick to rishi road, the route might be longer but actually take less time).
There is an advantage to taking Reli road It crosses the real river the beautiful meandering .from the bridge.
Lolegaon is a quiet and peaceful hamlet located at an altitude of 5,520ft.
Places to See-Lolegaon
Lolegaon, originally known as Kaffer, takes about 4 hours if you are driving down from New Jalpaiguri Station and is about 125kms- the easier route being via Gorubathan. If you are traveling from Lava, it takes only an hour to reach Lolegaon.
